Mask people

I forgot to post these guys over here! I really liked drawing that little guy that I'm using as my icon everywhere so I did more. I'm thinking I might do a whole bunch and make them into a zine. I'm planning on doing some shows in the new year like Canzine and maybe Fanexpo if I can get a table ahahahahaha I just looked up how much Fan Expo tables are. Nope.

Week 4 comics!

Week 4 assignment: 8 panels/1page max, an argument between your character and a person they hate with an emphasis on dialogue.

Tried a different panel layout and actually used real text for my text bubbles. So many text layers. Elizabeth/Liz take after their father, if it wasn't obvious. It's the reason why her father won't look at her. She looks too much like him and is nothing like his baby girl. Her mother, meanwhile, just dropped off the deep end when their replacement daughter started growing a personality of her own.

Edit: Made some changes suggested by my professor to make the text and panels flow a bit better. I'm going to keep challenging myself with page layouts. Hopefully I'll pick up how to do lettering better along the way....

Block printing

Tried my hand at lino block printing for the first time since high school. I got about 7 good prints thus far. These are some of my favourites, a pair done on textured paper. The slight translucence of the paper didn't scan but you can see the texture in the black ink.
For some reason I think that lino prints should be macabre (probably because of the graphic nature and the fact that I only have black ink right now) so all my ideas for prints are horror-inspired.
